You know less about Libya than I know about playing a clarinet, what exactly do you think that NATO did in that civil war that (quite rarely for the region) started organically with no western interference, what we did, including Canada, was enforce a no fly zone and degrade from the air Ghaddafi's air force and armour, that was it, it was possibly absurdly hopeful to think that what was essentially a tribal conflict would lead to a democratic Libya but it was also absolutely clear that the alternative was a regime led ethnic cleansing of the western tribes of Hutu Tutsi like proportions using their massive air and armour advantage.
I suppose you could argue we should have just let the slaughter happen, none of our business etc, we need the Oil, you know, like we are doing in Yemen, personally I think what we did was a brave attempt to unscramble an egg that was ulitmately the most moral pathway
