Fits edmonton perfectly to inherit two players that are so one dimensional that they can't help you win despite being able to produce at will. All because they are equally as bad in their own end as they are good in the offensive one.
I'd attribute a lot of that to the organization not demanding any accountability from their top players and just letting them drive the bus since they came in. And kissing their feet on a daily basis because they get on the highlight reel in 5-3 losses. What player in that position of pedestalized power is going to pull their weight defensively? No consequences. E=NG.

And its why I say that McDavid is a super star, but he's not generational, and as much as Oiler fans harp upon his shoulder thumping sign of elite leadership, he ain't no leader. He's in it for himself and his stats.
There's a reason why the Oilers struggle to make the playoff, and more then anything its those two guys. The toxic twins. And when the inevitable happens and McDavid loses a little bit of his speed, its going to be a bad look man, a bad look.
