My Valentine's Day was a bit of a disaster. Personally, I'm not a fan of the day, but my g/f is right into it. She has dropped a number of hints in recent weeks about the wonderful feeling you get when receiving "12 long-stem red roses in a vase" at work.
Well, I one-upped her and ordered two dozen...online, at Bloomex.ca. Well, due to some light (by Calgary standards) snow in the GTA, they notified me at the end of the day that they couldn't deliver them - they will be delivered tomorrow.
I'm not too pleased with this. Firstly, she was anxiously awaiting their arrival all day at her place of work. Secondly, I paid a V-Day premium, and a 'morning delivery' premium and didn't receive either. Her colleagues received their flowers - some from online rival, growersdirect.com.
At any rate, she understood the situation but I am still peeved that I paid $120 for a service I didn't receive. What good is a Feb. 15 delivery and why should I have to pay full price for day-old flowers? I even told them she wouldn't be at work tomorrow and they responded they'll be sending them then anyways because they already prepared them. Oh well, rant over.
