I didn't say he had a grudge. I said perhaps some hard feelings.
I believe that when the Flames and Macinnis parted ways it wasn't just about the massive (at the time) offer from the Blues. I believe the org and the player had both decided it was time to part ways. And that's part of the reason he considers himself a Blue more than a Flame.
As for the rest...I would suggest any hard feelings towards the city would have been from his assault incident and how he was portrayed in the course of that story.
