Guys are guilty of this stuff too. Lots of guys do that "I'll call you" line, instead of just saying it's not going to happen. That's, I guess, the equivalent of the "Let's be friends" line that girls use. I would definitely prefer they just be honest and let me know what's going on, instead of making me think he's interested when he really isn't.
