While there are a lot more people that can't afford a new console, there are also a lot of people that were lucky enough to keep their jobs, but weren't spending much on vacations, restaurants and other entertainment. A lot of people have extra money they want to spend. I think any PS5 available in the first 6 months will be sold out almost immediately.

I've never pre-ordered any PS console up until now (I just purchased a pre-order from a CP member) and have always got one within a month of launch. I don't expect this to be any different as they will be available and it's just a matter of being at the right place at the right time.
