Not sure if it's the same type of thing or not, but when I needed an MRI it was a 6 month wait for the hospital, or a 2 week wait here: http://www.canadadiagnostics.ca/

Oh, and the later wanted $900 to do it. At that point we didn't have private coverage on my compnay's health plan, but now we do.
