These polls reflect the fan base' view of the prospect pool every summer. It's not a guarantee that the top five all go on to be hall of famers. Injuries, personal issues, and just stalled development can make what looked like a solid prospect middling in as little as a year.

I didn't say he himself was an embarrassment, sheesh. I wasn't even really serious about the word "embarrassment" because this is just a fun offseason activity. But the fact is CP consistently overrates goalie prospects, every year.
