It's interesting, because our pre-conceptions of electric vehicles make us think that it wouldn't work as well in trucks. But when you think about it, the opposite is true: the torque, the weight, the extreme power for short periods, the ability to charge other things... it goes on and on. Everything about an electric vehicle is perfect for trucks.
They might quickly become more popular than electric cars. But I think we're going to need some more conventional styling first.

The biggest problem will be for people towing. It will be useless on, say, a long camping trip, or hauling horses, or that kind of stuff. But ya, totally good for the people who don't actually need a truck, but want one to drive to Costco with.
I think the ideal market for EV's now, which is totally missing is small commercial vans like the Ford transit connect, where people drive them all day making deliveries, or say a plumber doing 5 jobs in a day, where the battery demands aren't that high. The biggest environmental benefit comes not from the person driving to and from work, but those who drive all day, every day. Range shouldn't be an issue for city driving, I don't think.
