Toews & Kane are still pretty young. Last year was not their worst, career wise (whereas Kieth's last year was his worst). There is a lot of value in those guys, even without retaining any salary.

True, I am sure they don't want to go full-Oilers. I am a believer that you need good veterans in place to help develop good professionals. Keith could be that guy for the Hawks if he is happy with it. It's a pretty respectable way to round out a solid career with one team. The circle would be complete.
He was apparently one of the four Hawks that were recently complaining about the team rebuilding right now. He said they feel they have more Cups in them.
