Yes and no. It's actually extremely confusing if you're not speaking the language on a daily basis.
For example, the number 241 385 is read from left to right in English ( two hundred, forty-one thousand, three hundred, eighty-five).
In Arabic it bounces around a lot ( two hundred and one and forty thousand, three hundred and five and eighty).
