The story in the PT itself is smart and makes sense, its the details and dialogue that hurt it and that there were some things in there that gained too much focus.
Imagine giving a guy like IK the job of writing and showing the fall of Anakin, and no fracking I hate Sand monologues.

We went to Christina Lake this week for a Covid Thanksgiving, and spent Wednesday on the beach.
While “I hate sand; it’s coarse and rough and it gets everywhere. Not like you, you’re soft and smooth,” is an awful line, up there with “Two fighters against the STAR DESTROYER???”, Anakin is not wrong about sand.
It’s coarse, and rough, and it does get everywhere.
