I hate the points per 60 reference, without referring to actual time on ice.

Absurd example:

Boston Bruins pts/60:

Brendan Gaunce: 6.48
Pastrnak: 4.397
Marchand: 4.027
Zach Senyshyn: 3.6
Bergeron: 2.974

I guess Gaunce is better than all by that measure? Of course not, as he only averaged 9:10 per game.

Also, this season Toffoli had 2.11 p/60 with the Kings and 3.24 with the Canucks, both times averaging 16:35 and 18:11 TOI per game respectively, while Ennis had 1.76 with the Oilers and 2.142 with the Sens averaging 14:43 and 14:42 TOI, so it looks like he had to add another year with the prior team to fit his narrative in any event.
Thanks for the breakdown, I was thinking this when reading Staples stupidity. If Ennis was that good in terms of production, then they should be playing him with top line minutes, because clearly he's a 100 point player production wise. But he's not.

Staples reason for living is to exaggerate every signing, throw up videos of every prospect and then bark that they are all sure fire NHL'ers. I mean he was positively Poolparty's publicist, but if you watch the video's of that league, it was no contact, huge seams because of big ice, the goaltending was far from NHL standard. I'd look awesome in selected picks of my beer league games, when I was motivated to play. But there's no way I'm an NHL'er.

I expect that unless something radical has changed with Poolparty, he's going to be plagued by the same issues that effected him last time. He doesn't see the ice well, he can't make quick decisions, and while his physical toolbox is very good, his mental toolbox is poor.

As much as Staples crows about the Oilers winning. Frankly

Ennis, Smith, Turris, Barrie and Poolparty are cast off signings that other teams looked at and went nah. Turris has been bad for a while, Barrie is the wrong defenseman for that team, Ennis who cares, and Poolpary is reclamation.

Frankly Calgary, Vegas and Vancouver have all improved, Edmonton has probably dropped.
