It's one step down, but we bought a new CX-5 in June and have been nothing but happy with it. Strong likes are the interior finishes (coming from 8 years of Audis I don't feel like it is much of a step down), advanced safety features and the styling. Handling feels better than the comparables we test drove. I believe the CX-9s all come with the turbo engine, which is a great choice. The tech (nav & entertainment) on ours is a bit dated compared to the CX-30, I'm not sure which generation the CX-9 has. We'd have happily gone CX-9 but we are closing in on empty nest status and wanted to get into a smaller vehicle.
