Read the article. He was not in a position to sign a contract any more than a player on any other NHL team was able to sign a contract. That was Ho-Sang doing his own thing.

Stop ####ing calling it the race card, it is ####ing demeaning to say that anytime someone brings up racial equality and that it is given a name like that. Bringing up race, isn't playing a ####ing card, it's something we deal with every day and people like you want to continually marginalize it with saying #### like race card.
You're the one who brought it up. This had absolutely NOTHING to do with race, until YOU turned into something about race. This is not about race, this about a player refusing to accept direction from his coaches and play a team game. This is about attitude and adaptability.

Again bringing up stories from juniors, kids mature. You have provided nothing but useless conjecture about his "character" as a professional.
And when you say nothing, you mean his team not being happy with his performance, stating that he needs to follow coaches orders, and that his refusal to buy into the team game is the reason for him being scratched? Or do we have to go all the way to pointing out that the Islanders lent him out to another team to get him away from their minor league team because he was not helping his team?

"“He’s a baby,” Thompson said. “He’s a baby, he’s immature and he’s got a lot of growing to do. I’m excited. The upside of him is outstanding. He worked hard today, he’s been working really hard. We all make mistakes, we all have bad games. It’s how do we respond from those and what do we learn from them? Every piece of this season for Josh, with us, is a development piece."

"Ho-Sang is no stranger to healthy scratches in the AHL — he went through them last season before it all clicked and resulted in his first promotion to the NHL."

See, when he applies himself and follows direction he gets rewarded. The problem is he doesn't follow the coach's directions with any consistency and he thinks he should be allowed to do things other players have earned the right to do.

"Ho-Sang isn’t interested in another season with the Sound Tigers. After it was announced that he was assigned to Bridgeport, Lamoriello stated pubically that Ho-Sang’s agent informed him that the winger had requested a trade."

"Lamoriello told Ho-Sang’s camp that he will try to fulfil their wishes. While he works the phones trying to find a trade partner, Ho-Sang was instructed by the organization to hold off on reporting to their AHL team.

The question will be what compensation the player who recently cleared waivers could get the Islanders. He may not have made the team out of camp, but perhaps there is a franchise in the league who believes his skill set and talents could be of value in their organization."

This is on Ho-Sang.
