Keep in mind that any fan discussion of a Toronto player has to take a full lines value out, in order for it to make sense for the rest of the league. Hyman-Matthews-Nylander arn't line zero megastars, they are just a good first line.
It's sort of like how every wrestler in the WWE is immediately a Superstar.
Andreas Johnsson is a good third liner getting paid $3.4M a season. If he and Milan Lucic were both being paid $1M per season, their values would be similar. Due to the salaries involved, this was a more even trade than it looks on the surface. Good for New Jersey weaponizing their cap situation.
