That's great. I am not talking about you saying Holtby was good and then Holtby was bad. I am on about you saying Holtby has been awful for the last three seasons, then trying to say Samsonov was good last season. His numbers are the same as Holtby's from two seasons ago, a season you say was bad. Pick a lane. Either they're both really bad, or Holtby had a down year. It cannot be both.

Maybe. Maybe he'll replicate what Markstrom was able to do under Ian Clark.
Woodley from In Goal, who was praising Markstrom, also praised the Holtby signing in much the same way

Gone. I was wrong. He does not value a chance at winning a cup more than comfort and being where he wants to be. I thought he did based on comments had made in the past. And no, that is not a shot at Calgary for not being good. Calgary is infinitely better today than they were two days ago and much closer to a shot at the cup. Colorado is still a better team though.

I make snide, jokey remarks to snide jokey remarks. I usually also save it for people who aren't #######s about a Canucks fan being a regular posters. If you consider applying one set of rules for one guy while using a different set for another guy as logic... well... yeah

Benning got backed into a wall by the expansion draft. This was coming no matter how Demko performed. Hell, there was an expectation that Demko would not perform. That he did has made this a hell of a lot easier. Benning, for the first time in UFA history, was able to set his budget for the players and stick to it.
You also realize that Juolevi, Virtanen, Pettersson and Hughes were all picked with Markstrom as the Canucks goalie and were all slotted to be top 3 or 5 picks prior to draft lottery shenanigans, right? Like, with Markstrom as our 1a or 1b we had one of, if not the, worst records over a 3 year span.

I am more confident in the Flames goaltending situation than I have been since Kiprusoff retired. I am legitimately happy for you guys, and happy that Markstrom got paid. I am also confident in the Canucks situation.
