This is very easily disproven. Brodie is very good defensively because he keeps the puck away from the other team. It’s not all about shot blocking and physicality
Statically Brodie is literally elite league wide at moving the puck out of the zone which is a big part of playing good defense
Also the best ability in sports is availability, Tanev is injury prone and Brodie was solid outside of one freak occurrence. Injury prone guys tend to not do so well on the wrong side of 30
