Tanev is a defenseman.
They’re able to be Productive in different ways.
Hal Gill is about as big a possession threat as a suburban Salt Lake City valedictorian, he was still an invaluable piece of teams that went to at least the Conference finals three straight years.
Ask Sid how important Hal Gill was to their success. Or Mike Cammalleri how vital Hal Gill was to yet another weak sauce Habs team getting to the 3rd round.
These types of players matter.
