Talbot finishes his contract with the Wild at 36 years old. Markstrom will be 35 at the end of his contract here.
Markstrom has also played less games than average for his age. Should have a decent amount of hockey left in him because of that.

In what world is .918 elite? Or a 2.65 GAA.
He's not a late bloomer. He is a goalie. Which are notoriously hard to predict. There is no set growth path for goalies.
