I don't know about this one - I think Dorion made the right move here.
Says that he offered 'a substantial raise' - I wonder what that is, and how far apart they were. I wouldn't want to take a chance that the arbitrator awarded Duclair 4 million. He needs prime opportunity for that to happen.
I think there are a lot of players that end up posting good numbers when given a prime opportunity. If he gets pushed down - which isn't that unlikely given how much talent they have been drafting - is he going to produce at a 4 million rate on the 2nd or 3rd lines without PP1 - maybe without PP2 time? Doubtful.
I side with Dorian here unless I hear that Duclair wasn't asking for too much relative to his value. I wouldn't take the risk of a 4 million decision.
