Yes, they should be plowing the main roads, the roads that get the most traffic immediately. But leave the side roads until the plows/sanders can get to them.
Usually in calgary, if it snows, it is gone in a few days. On top of that, I haven't seen this much snow on the ground in calgary in a very very long time (abnormal march dumps are not included in this).
The majority of this snow will probably be gone by friday/saturday.

For sure. One of the biggest problems right now is that the dnump truck "plow/sander" combos come and blade off the snow and leave just a thin enough layer to become ice. They'll never plow and sand a sidestreet at the same time which I think causes more problems than not. Maybe its because I have a 4x4 truck, but snow provides 100x more traction than the ice does.
