Patrick Roy never once had a season where he had a negative GSAA, including those 3 years before he was traded.
I feel like we have a double agent in here trying to make Braden Holtby sound like some sort of God knowing full well he's likely to provide very poor results while someone like Markstrom (not the biggest fan but the best goalie on the market) has performed much better in recent seasons.
The only argument for Holtby is that whereas Markstrom will likely get term which a team could end up semi-regretting, Holtby is more likely to get a short term "show me" deal with the off chance he bounces back. However, there is almost zeeero chance he goes from being one of the worst goalies in the entire league over the last three years to going back to being one of the best.
Markstrom is easily the better target over Holtby.
