Well unless we draft and develop our own guy, nobody’s trading us a 27 year old dude with five consecutive .920 seasons.
When the Avalanche got Patrick Roy, he was mired in the midst of four straight seasons where his save percentage was between .906 and .909.
He needed a new challenge, and he won two more cups.
Holtby may not be Roy, but he’s closer to Roy than he is to Markstrom, that’s for damn sure.
Again, I’m fine with Markstrom. What’s important is we get a guy.
If the guy we get is Braden Holtby, that’s an enormous win for the Calgary Flames.
