Holtby didn’t suffer any debilitating injuries. He didn’t forget how to play the position.
Maybe he was worn out playing in Washington - being cup or bust every year can’t be easy.
He won. Two years ago, he had a .922 save percentage en route to a championship.
This position is 95% mental. Holtby has a proven track record of being a mentally elite goalie.
I’d certainly go with his body of work over Markstrom.
The dude is elite, and has been since he came into the league.
