I guess we’ll see how it shakes down, but he’s not going to have the time and space in the PL. Regardless though, they’ve effectively swapped Gunnersaurus for Partey, and I’m not sure that’s a great deadline day!
And the wrangling about United and their window is amusing. I like VDB, but during the game yesterday they were saying he’s not super happy with the lack of playing time he’s seeing (already!), and that was before he came on for about 25 minutes when the game was out of reach. I have no idea what Woodward was doing though. Pretty clearly you need some defensive help, so you sell Smalling and bring in a 33 year old CF, obviously. That just seems like a terrible idea.
