Hoffman is a great skater, still has a rocket of a shot and has shown 0 signs of decline. Neal was showing signs of decline, as his physical game was almost gone, he was oft injured, his production had dropped, his goals in Vegas were more right place at the right time, rather than lasers like a couple years prior and he skated like the wind on a still winter morning. Brouwer was never more than a 0.5ppg grinder that was a special teams specialist.
Hoffman is has always been considered skilled, fast, sniper. While Neal and Brouwer were considered power forwards, which is why they broke down so quickly. THe only contact Hoffman takes is for scoring goals.
The only thing he has in common with Brouwer is they both played in Florida.
