Of course there is always a catch, I should have added that if all you want is the console and the regular $8.99 console version of Game Pass then Xbox ALL-ACCESS is not the choice for you.
But for those who are already paying the $16.99 a month for XBOX Game Pass Ultimate, and wasn't able to secure an XBOX Series S/X pre-order, its a great option and you save $50.
If you only want the console version of Game Pass, which doesn't include XBOX Live Gold (the ability to play multiplayer online), then you are right.
The catch with a 24 month payment saving you money is for Microsoft to lock you into their ecosystem for 2 years, give you everything they believe gamers want in a tidy little package, and get these expensive console to people who can't afford the lump sum payment of $630 on day one.
Don't act like it isn't a great option for the exact audience they are targeting here.
