Does following politics online for hours a day make people unhappy and angry, or does it attract people who are already unhappy and angry?
It’s only curious if you don’t consider any context at all. Do you not think people had their reasons for wishing Bush, Obama, and now Trump dead for the many deaths they were indirectly but ultimately responsible for?

Instead of spending so much time asking leading questions and trying to prove your brain has an extra wrinkle, it’s ok to accept that not everything fits a narrative you have. Not everything matches your world view and can be put in a tidy box. Some people wish Trump dead because they’ve got a lot of hate in ‘em, but most people do it because they don’t care about him at all, and would just be happy to have whatever influence he has end. It’s not curious, it’s human.
