I personally don’t wish him dead; I hope he loses the election but that’s a different thing. There can be a bit of a fine line between wishing him ill and pointing out the irony of his standing on a stage and mocking Biden for wearing masks when he was already infected with the virus. It’s also completely FAIR to speculate about what happens if he DOES die or is incapacitated, both in terms of the election and how that affects his government.

But it’s also a moment when we can reflect on compassion as a virtue, even compassion for people who we don’t think deserve it. I think that is also something that guy with the beard was trying to teach people.
