The flat cap is not going to result in the league rolling back contract numbers by 20% type of thing. The reported value of Contracts will likely be similar to the past 3 seasons in terms of the numbers. So for guys like Pietrangelo and Hall, their best bet is to sign a longer term deal because the next 3 seasons are the ones that teams will want out of them, and they'll likely be willing to put money in deals later on to get them for these seasons.
