Biggest barrier on a Brodie signing is going to be trade protection.
Flames won't want to give him a NMC so they don't have to protect him in the expansion draft, and he's going to want a NMC or at least a promise that they don't let him get selected by Seattle.
Honestly wouldn't be surprised if he were to take a 1 year deal this offseason, be a UFA for the expansion draft, and then re-sign next off-season for 3-4 when the expansion draft isn't looming.
