Gio's definitely got to the point of: mind still sharp but the body is having troubles keeping up. And it wasn't just playoffs, was regular season too.
Calls to pinch along the boards are going awful because he's getting beat to the puck by a second whereas a season or two ago he gets there and that puck is easily hammered back behind the net.
Point shots that would have tested the goalie or beat them would instead rebound off a stick or shinpad harmlessly because the defender has an extra second or so to get in the lane.
Streaking forwards that would have been stonewalled right at the blue line in days gone by are either beating him clean more often or drawing untimely obstruction penalties because he's slowing down.
I think he will be a very serviceable 2nd pairing defenseman for the rest of his career with the Flames but to expect him to man 1st pairing minutes competently is wishful thinking from here on out.
