"Since that monster season" = less than one full normal season.
This year Gio had .51 ppg. The 2 years before his Norris season he was .41 and .46. No one was complaining in those years.
Gio's contract is less than McDonough, Seabrook, Vlasic, Weber, OEL, Subban, Doughty and he produced better than all those guys. And in most cases his contract isn't as bad going forward.
This is not an albatross contact.
