I don't have a comparable
I'm a fan, I'm not a scout nor do I pretend to be one. Home games I don't see anything because of my vision, so anything outside the offensive zone I can't see. Road games there were roughly 11-12. Road games are the only views that count
Robert Thomas
Arthur Kaliyev
Connor McMichael
Jan Mysak
Jan Jenik
In those 11 games, there just wasn't enough of a sample size to see how he handles situations. There's no question that he can put up points but of the players in the list above the only fair comparable to is Kaliyev. The others I would be comparing their postseason draft year to the draft year and that's not a fair comparison. Kaliyev I've seen a hell of a lot more than 11, to compare that to 11 games doesn't work
I absolutely love him, but we never got to see Kaliyev, Jenik and Mysak play together. And only 11 games, I wouldn't be putting my 1st round pick on that small of a sample size and say that I know that player
Ask me after this season where I can compare him to Thomas, McMichael and Janik's post-draft season and I will have a more solid stance on where I stand
But like I said before, I'm a fan and not a scout. I cheer for players and there's no desire to be otherwise
Sorry if that's not the report you want to hear. My main point was that the amount of views that scout got a Mysak was very low. Half of his games were played in Hamilton and I don't have the sense that any one team had a strong presence other than three. There just was too much going on at the time
