I thought Biden would be better, but he was really underwhelming in this debate and I think his team did a really poor job of preparing him.
Trump probably won't see much of a drop in his ratings, but I don't think that Biden is going to gain anything, and the undecided number might actually grow.

Really? I figured the strategy was to go into this and let Trump make himself look like an idiot. Counterpunch here and there, but let Godzilla stumble around the stage, act like a three year old, and hope he says something so outrageous that it rings in the zeitgeist for the next couple weeks. Well, Trump went full Godzilla, wouldn't shut up, and told a violent racist group to be ready. That is going to be the narrative coming out of this, and it is going to resonate with independents and even some of Trump's base. Biden didn't do any damage to Trump tonight, mostly because he wasn't trying to. It really looked like he was instructed to just stay out of the way, and it worked. Trump destroyed Trump.
