The Flames used to be one of these types of teams as well in the 80s. They invested more energy and time into scouting than others, and reaped the benefits.
These days, it's harder to find that edge, but Covid has definitely thrown a curveball into plans across the board. We'll look back at this draft 5 years from now and see some major steals.
