We put our last dog down in 2012, we decided to wait a couple years before getting a new dog because we didn't want him to be a "replacement", however we then moved into a house that doesn't allow pets. Also, covid really hasn't had a drastic impact on my life, I was hurt at work a while before covid came along and due to PTSD and chronic pain from the injury, I am long term disability and may never return to work. So, unfortunately me being home is the new normal for me for our foreseeable future. My wife agreed to move after my doctor told us that a companion animal would be very helpful to my mental health.
