That's the only sensible time to trade Gaudreau IMO. Team is trying to win now and trading Johnny without adequately replacing him first wouldn't be in line with that goal at all. I'm actually a little surprised they haven't acquired Hall's rights given all the smoke around the two parties mutual interest.
