Flames are a small market team. There is little to nothing driving star players to pick Calgary over the 30 markets. The flames were the western conference champs last year, and could only muster a trade for Milan lucic, which is a bottom 10 contract of the entire NHL.
Enjoy the dreams of the offseason, but until management realizes drafting is the ONLY path to a contending roster for the flames, we're just setting ourselves for disappointment.
The gaudreau trade rumours, are just rumours, but should definitely help us flames fans keep expectations in check. This is the flames, err on the side of disappointment.
