I bought an Envision LCD monitor on a trip to the U.S. just over a year ago (so I can't return it to the store). Now the monitor stops working and there are grey and green lines all across the middle of the screen with large banding. It said 3 year warranty on the box.
I contact Envision (
www.envisiondisplay.com) and they say that's all fine, the warranty works in Canada. They send me an RMA number to a monitor depot here in Calgary and they say everything is good, they'll contact me in a week. They call me today and tell me the LCD panel is defective. And because the manufacture date ON the LCD panel itself (and not the monitor) is 2005, and the LCD panel only has a 1-year warranty versus the monitor which is 3-year (what? so they only cover like the lamp? buttons? stand??? BS!), I am out of luck.
That's horrible, are LCD policies usually like this? It was a $500 20" display and now huge chunks and bands of the screen are grey and green and they tell me to just take it home and use it. This is attrocious, anybody have any ideas what I can do?
