If youre a scorched earth team with the value oick ottawa has, you can afford to take the franchise forward with your first pick and assume the risk reward with askarov. Seriously. When all is said and done, Askarov will be a #1. Hes a tier above Samsonov, Shetyerkin and Sorokin.

As for Gunler, I hope the Flames take him if the draft falls the way that mock does. I love his game, a lot.

I still look at goalies being available every year via trade and free agency. High end centres? You draft them and keep them.
