I mean, everyone who voted for Hughes had Makar as second. Pretty much everyone who voted for Makar had Hughes as second. So everyone had them ranked the same way. I'd say that's pretty close.
I don't think there was a wrong answer here. Even Kubalik would have been a pretty good choice in average years. Makar has a lot more flash and that's usually a great boon for awards like this. What makes Hughes so good is just how calm and poised he is defensively, which isn't really a flashy thing. They're both going to be real good.
