100%. If the Flames gave out cars it would be cap circumvention. This is just dealers (and the like) having celebrities use their products as way of advertising. If it's good enough for Monahan, it's good enough for me!
But outside Canada, especially in less traditional hockey markets, the argument seems to be that it is probably less likely that a hockey player can capitalize on their local celebrity-status when they aren't really celebrities.
