The economy is weird though. Stock market is pretty great considering, retail and housing development is booming around me from no particularly local factor. They say unemployment is high, but most businesses can't find enough workers to keep open their full hours. Some local businesses haven't survived, but far less than I would have guessed. Houses have bidding wars when they go up for sale. I have no idea why it's happening, but the last few months have been booming in my suburban VA county.
