Given Monahan's well documented struggles I'm surprised to see so many people opposed to using him to acquire a 26-year old RHD, with tremendous offensive skill, that can play physical, and defend reasonably well. As others have said, there's so much more that would go into the big picture, ie. what other pieces are involved, other trades the Flames make, who they acquire in free agency, and the expansion draft, but I think you'd be crazy to reject acquiring Dumba outright.

Yeah....IIRC its 9 dmen in the history of the league have scored 30 or more.
Dumba is a helluva a player who had a bad season...it happens.
I just dont think the Flames have the ability to go get him though, nor afford him under the cap. Way bigger issues with this team than good defensemen.
