I know there (use to be?) a questionnaire that included the question of "Would you rather be loved by fans and lose, or hated and win?" I wish for one season they only selected people who would rather win and be hated. (And to be honest, at $500,000 pre-tax, not that it's chump change, but I think I would rather be loved for exactly the reasons Calgary14 said while not becoming some form of pariah).
