I only had the pleasure of seeing him live in jr a few times and one being in the showcase jr game here in calgary. what really caught my eye was how it seemed every time the ice was about to clsoe on him, he had the ability to side step trouble by using some lateral movement.
I would also assume his draft position was hurt a little bit by the fact that for most of points career the Warriors struggled to make the playoffs

The way he could wheel with the puck, and keep it on his stick with guys draped all over him was awesome. It was no guarantee he could do the same against men in the NHL. He had the work ethic though, and in his first few years went in to camp working for his spot on the team, not taking anything for granted, and it shows.
