Washington.
Jacob Vrana + Connor McMicheal
for Johnny Gaudreau + 2nd 2020
if they would do this, you take it and run. Vrana is a step down from Gaudreau, but I don't think that he has yet reached his peak. McMicheal has a very high ceiling. In my estimation, it's either this deal or nothing, as there is nothing else in Washington's system worth looking at, and they won't part with an established peice.
Toronto.
There is literally nothing on their team worth the cap hit.
Carolina.
Nino Neiderreiter + Ryan Suzuki + 13th overall 2020
for
Johnny Gaudreau
It feels strange going back to the well with Carolina, but the last trade worked out for both teams, and there is a relationship there. Nino is about a prototypical middle six RW as you can get, but a little overpaid. He has worn out his welcome in Carolina, but I think that there is more in the tank, and it balances salaries. Suzuki is in a tough spot for the organization, being behind Aho and Necas. He could be stolen and has top line potential. The number 13 pick is a nice one. I think that there will be a faller in the draft this year, because of parity in the top 15.
One useful piece and two very high end lottery tickets. Carolina is at the top of my wish list. People could point to Cozens and 8th from Buffalo, but I don't think that they give that up for JG, making this the winner IMO.
Columbus.
Boone Jenner + Liam Foudy + Kirill Marchenko
for
Johnny Gaudreau
Columbus needs a second line centre, and not really a winger. I could still see them going for JG, but would they add their first to this offer? I don't think so. Jenner is a heart and soul player, Foudy is fast as hell, and Marchenko is in the KHL for at least another season, but could be Radulov good.
