Carolina takes the gamble with Gio having a cap hit lower than what Hamilton will demand.
Flames add two right hand shots who can score. Re-signing Hamilton fills the hole left by losing Brodie, and we dress an overall lower cap blue line (specifically the 3rd pair).

Lineup below includes the Hall dream, which they gain space for in the swap. With enough left over to bring in another 1b goalie like they love to do.
Flames top two lines each have a Left and Right hand faceoff option, as well as a defensively minded forward. Third line could be dynamite.
